My name is Daniel Meier and I'm a German language translator. I've been working in this field since 1993, and in 1995 I passed the State Translation Test for the German language. My native tongue is German, as I lived in Germany for 24 years of my life. My experience, dependability and precise work is backed by customers and translation agencies all over the Czech Republic, as well as other countries.
Like most translators, I cover a fairly wide range of fields, but the bulk of my experience is in the fields of economics and law; as well as in the technical realm of construction, developing, Information Technologies, and software.
Each year I translate approximately 2500 pages of text and I use the standard office applications, along with the most advanced programs for computer translations (e.g. CAT- Tools - Translation Memory Tools). I use TRADOS and TRANSIT applications, and I have experience with other similar programs. The use of these programs is beneficial for long-standing customers and general translation requests. In addition to maintaining consistent terminology, the program stores words, sentences, and paragraphs previously translated, so there is no need to translate them again. Time saved is money earned. For these reasons I give preference to documents received in the electronic form. Obviously I use the internet for finding terminology in electronic dictionaries.
